This September I successfully read a total of nine books. Originally I planned to read ten, and there were three books in that pile that I had to prioritize. However, I only managed to read nine in which there includes two books out of the three that I should have been prioritizing. I’m quite satisfied because at least I didn’t completely failed this month’s challenge. So, here are the nine books I read on September.

The Raven King (The Raven Cycle #4) by Maggie Stiefvater ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ (4.5/5.0)
I’m so glad that I was finally done with the series. However, I’m still a tiny little bit disappointed because there are a few questions unanswered. I’m satisfied, but I’m not content I guess.

Until It Fades
by K. A. Tucker ⭐⭐ (2.0/5.0)
This book is a pain in the ass. Although the story is really interesting, the phase is very very slow progressing. I have full review of this book here.

If There’s No Tomorrow
by Jennifer L. Armentrout ⭐⭐✨ (2.5/5.0)
I like JLA’s paranormal books more than her contemporary ones. This one lacks originality. The plot line is too ordinary. Despite that, it isn’t all crap. I appreciate how she tried to wrap the story to be interesting, emotional, serious, and heartbreaking without sounding too preachy or cliche. I also have a review of this book here.

Making Faces by Amy Harmon ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4.0/5.0)
I really like this book. It’s very enlightening I would say. It talks about beauty and imperfections. I talked about it in my review here.

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5.0/5.0)
There are no words to describe how amazing this book is. Though I do have a review of it here. For those who haven’t read it yet, pick this up and READ!

Illuminae (The Illuminae Files #1) by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4.0/5.0)
This book is mind-blowing and full of surprises. I enjoyed reading it more than I thought I would. I have a review for this baby here.

One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus ⭐⭐⭐ (3.0/5.0)
This was my first mystery thriller book in a long while. It was good, but there were also a few things that I didn’t really like. I wrote a review of this here.

Caraval by Stephanie Garber ⭐⭐ (2.0/5.0)
This book was weird and confusing for me. The magic boundaries of the setting was unclear, the romance was insta-love although I did enjoy reading it, and the main character loved to associate things with colors. I did a review of the book here.

The Night Circus
by Erin Morgenstern ⭐⭐⭐ (3.0/5.0)
This book was a slight better than Caraval. The writing is beautiful and the romance is the slow-burn type. Yet what I found that’s still a bit lacking were the magic and the focus of the story. Also, the time structure annoyed the hell out of me. The author jumped to different period of time in every chapter. It was confusing and hard to keep up with.

Those are the books I read on September. I think I read quite a lot of good books. Not many of them were disappointing. My most favorite reads are The Hate U Give and Illuminae. I hope for next month I manage to read just as many books if not maybe more. How many books have you read on September? What’s your most favorite one? Thank you guys for reading. I’ll see you on the next post! 😘
