Hi everyone! 🙋 Today I’m coming back with a book tag post. I was tagged by my fellow book blogger Louise from A Little Fool Reads. Thank you for the tag, Louise! 💕 You should check out her blog if you haven’t already. When I found out I was tagged, I was sure I’m so gonna do this. It’s GOODREADS we’re talking about. The website has helped me a lot with my reading progress and goals. 📚 I also feel like all the questions in this tag are the ones I’ll be able to answer easily. So, without any further ado, let’s jump right in to the tag! 💃

What was the last book you marked as ‘read’?

AABThe last book I marked as ‘read’ was All American Boys by Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely. This book reminds me so much of The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. I haven’t read that many books about black people, especially the ones that are ownvoices. Hence, I don’t have many others to compare this with. Although I liked The Hate U Give more than this one, both are equally important. I definitely recommend everyone to check them out. 🙂

What are you ‘currently reading’?

WWWturtles-all-the-way-down-hd-cover-john-greenI’m currently reading two books Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo and Turtles All the Way Down by John Green. Warbringer has been in my currently reading shelf since last month. I have no idea why I keep putting it down after only reading around 100 pages. 😪 I think it’s because I’m so afraid I won’t like it as much as I’d hoped for. I LOVE the movie, and I really want to like the book as well. 💕 Also, I’ve finally gotten around to start reading Turtles All the Way Down after passing the book to two of my friends. I’m currently only on the first chapter, so I can’t say much about it yet. 🐢

What was the last book you marked as ‘TBR’?

TROMThe last book I marked as ‘TBR‘ was The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman. I stumbled upon it when I was scrolling through my Goodreads updates. I honestly don’t know what this book is about. What I remember is that at the time I decided to add it to my TBR because I was intrigued by the synopsis. I think it’s about witch. Besides that, I literally have no memory of what the story is about. Also, I’m still not sure whether I’ll keep it in the TBR shelf or remove it. 👻

What book do you plan to read next?

3338522931450852After I’m through with the two books on my currently reading shelf, I plan to read either They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera and/ or Tower of Dawn (Throne of Glass, #6) by Sarah J. Maas. There have been so many raves about them. I couldn’t wait to find out the truths behind all of them. 😂

Do you use the star rating system?

Yes. 💫✨ It’s helpful although sometimes it’s also stressing. I rarely (almost never) rate a book one star. However, there are also books that I don’t think deserve two or two and a half or three star rating. OR any other rating among those three intervals. That’s when rating a book gets complicated. I think if Goodreads enables the half or quarter maybe (?) star rating system, it will definitely help. 👍

Are you doing a 2017 reading challenge?

Yes. I have been participating in the Goodreads Reading Challenge since last year. This year is my second time, and I aim for 50 books. I HAVE FINISHED THIS YEAR READING CHALLENGE!!! ️🎉 I’m so happy about this. I think joining the challenge has helped me be on track with my reading without really feeling pressured. I’m satisfied that I’d done it, but I also wouldn’t have hated and blamed myself that much if I had failed. I plan to add another 20 books. Hopefully, by the end of this year the total amount of books I read reaches 200. ❤️

Do you have a wishlist?

I don’t have a precise reading wishlist. I just have the basic ones, such as the amount of books I aim to read in a year. I don’t really like to put too much pressure on myself. However, this is something that has ever crossed my mind. I like the idea of planning goals, but I’m really bad at self discipline. I’m not gonna say I won’t ever make a reading wishlist because I definitely am still interested in making one. I’m just not sure when I’ll carry out the act. 😬

What book do you plan to buy next?

51f0Fx8A4mL._SX325_BO1,204,203,200_I don’t have a physical copy of The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo, so I plan to place an order. 😍 Also, there is currently a flash sale at the bookstore inside the public library of my university, so I’m probably gonna do some book hunting next week.

Do you have any favorite quotes? Share a few!

I have never bothered myself with highlighting my books for quotes or jotting them down on a piece of paper. There are times when I stumble upon sentences that are powerful, impactful, and quotable, but I’m too lazy to write them down. 🙈 So, I mostly rely on my memory. Besides this, usually after I read the book and update my reading status on Goodreads, I go to the quote section and pick some from the list. Here are some that I remember because I just love the books these quotes are coming from so much. They’re not my ultimate quotes that guide me through life or something like that. I simply really like them. 🙂

Sometimes you can do everything right and things will still go wrong. The key is to never stop doing right. ― Angie Thomas, The Hate U Give

It annoys me when people try to convince other people that their anger or stress isn’t warranted if someone else in the world is worse off than them. It’s bullshit. Your emotions and reactions are valid, Merit. Don’t let anyone tell you any different. You’re the only one who feels them. ― Colleen Hoover, Without Merit

Weakness is a guise. Wear it when they need to know you’re human, but never when you feel it. ― Leigh Bardugo, Siege and Storm

“Everyone is more than one thing,” said Kieran. “We are more than single actions we undertake, whether they be good or evil.” ― Cassandra Clare, Lady Midnight

Intelligence is not measured by how much you know, but by how much you have the capacity to learn. ― Francesca Zappia, Made You Up

Who are your favorite authors?

My favorite authors are these three incredibly talented female on Earth. Cassandra Clare‘s books made me fall in love with reading. Leigh Bardugo writes such amazing series with unique world building and complex characters. Colleen Hoover is the queen for contemporary YA books which often address important issues. 💘

Have you joined any groups?

I don’t join any groups at the moment. I’ve been in groups before, but I quit. I was overwhelmed by the huge amount of notifications I could receive in a day. 😵 I like to consider myself as an active user, but there are certainly others who are more active. I participate when I want to, and this doesn’t mean I do it every single day. I prefer my notifications to only notify me of activities I involve myself in (reviews, updates, comments).
